- Condition of finished pellet: average grain diameter, size distribution, density of pellet, volume density, reconstitution properties
- Moisture content of the raw materials: dry basis, wet basis
- Material properties: biochemical properties, microbial activity, heat sensitivity(melting point, glass state temperature), moisture sorption isotherm(equilibrium moisture content)
- Time for drying: affected by drying curve and operating parameters
- Heating form: contact form(direct-type, indirect-type)
